Don’t wait for symptoms to have colonoscopy, physician says

People should not wait until symptoms appear before having a colonoscopy, because colon cancer can be prevented or removed if caught early, says Mount Sinai Medical Center gastroenterologist Dr. Steven Itzkowitz. “Anybody over age 50 is at risk of colorectal cancer,” he said, adding it affects both men and women of all races.
